An Evening with Adam Yates – Horsemanship Masterclass
Join us for a special evening with Adam Yates, Yorkshire-based horsemanship trainer and founder of AY Horsemanship, as he shares his compassionate, pressure-and-release approach to working with horses.
About Adam & His Methods
Adam has helped over 800 horses build stronger relationships with their owners, specialising in young horses, problem horses, and everything in between. AY Horsemanship His philosophy centres on connection: listening to what a horse is trying to tell you through its behaviour, then responding in a way that they understand and trust.
What to Expect
Introduction
– A warm welcome from Adam, where he’ll introduce himself, his journey into horsemanship, and the foundational principles behind his training.
– He’ll explain how his methods emphasise learning without fear or pain, using gentle communication, pressure-and-release, and respecting a horse’s instincts.
Demonstration Session
– Live demos on the ground: Adam will showcase how he uses rope halters and other tools to guide horses from the ground. This includes clear body control techniques.
– Under-saddle work: see how he warms up a horse correctly, focusing on rhythm, balance and subtle cues, helping the horse understand what is being asked without force.
Techniques & Tools Explored
– Groundwork & halter control: learn how Adam builds a dialogue with the horse from the floor, using his own body to communicate.
– Ridden work: observe how he transitions that connection into riding, maintaining clarity and trust in aids.
Problem-Solving Masterclass
– Finishing the evening, Adam will lead a problem-solving masterclass, focusing on how to deal with napping.
– He’ll break down the root causes, offer actionable techniques, and teach you how to respond in a calm, clear, and consistent way.
Tickets: £15 per person
