Held at craven arena.
The bhs challenge awards are designed to give you a solid foundation to your horse knowledge whether your just starting out or have been around horses for a while. Do you want to feel more confident in day to day tasks and when caring for your equine friends then this is for you.
This day training camp will cover all aspects of the about the horse (care) silver challenge award. (Other than for the ride safe this is a none ridden camp, the riding sections can be signed off via private ridden session on riders own horses at another time) for those who have access to and would like to bring their own horses in on the afternoon to be able to complete the ride safe award this will be a option, (stables not provided, horses would need to stay with the trailers) please state on the notes when entering if you would like to do the ride safe part of the award. It will include a simulated road route ridden in the arena and a small hack around the auction. For those that would not like to do the rider part of the ride safe they can still complete the theory and the training towards the certificate.
All the about the horse Silver challenge award log books will be provided and are included in the price.
This camp will be for the silver challenge award and is aimed at people who are relevantly confident around horses who have a existing basic knowledge, Full completion of the Silver award gives direct entry onto the BHS stage 2 exam.
If participants are up to the standard required then the log books will be signed off throughout the camp and the certificates completed.
A short induction will be delivered at the start of the day for the yard rules and procedures, ppe to be worn and a rider registration form must be completed before the start of the camp.
This is a two day training camp running roughly 9am to 4pm, no accommodation or catering is provided food must be brought by participants.
Participants must bring their own ppe, riding hats, gloves, suitable footwear and clothing for working around horses.

This camp is open to anyone age 11yrs upwards who have a basic knowledge of working around horses.
